La lista de la enfermera

La última frase del verso tres del canto sexto de Las canciones de Maldoror del escritor uruguayo Isidore Lucien Ducasse, más conocido como Comte de Lautréamont, dice "¡Y, sobre todo, como la yuxtaposición casual de una máquina de coser y un paraguas en una mesa de disección!". En inglés Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella es el nombre del primer disco de la banda Nurse With Wound publicado en Londres en 1979. El albúm es un clásico del Noise, un estilo que se caracteriza por el uso del ruido como expresión musical. El grupo es también conocido por haber incluido en el disco (y completado en el segundo To the Quiet Men from a Tiny Girl de 1980) una lista de doscientas noventa y cuatro referencias de grupos musicales que habían influenciado a Steven Stapleton, John Fothergill y Heman Pathak, los integrantes de la banda. Algunos de los músicos de la lista parecen inhallables. Al respecto Stapleton aseveró que algunos de los nombres de la lista fueron inventados, cosa que Fothergill negó. La lista se convirtió en la puerta de entrada al conocimiento de la música de vanguardia, experimental o rara.
